Introducing One of Bali’s Best Wedding Caterers, Merah Putih

With exquisite Indonesian food, and love going into every event they hold; it’s no surprise that Merah Putih Bali Catering is the leader in the Balinese Wedding Catering market. We were fortunate enough to have a 1-1 chat with the Boss Mr. Jasper Manifold…

In a coconut shell, what’s your story and how was Merah Putih Catering born?
The original restaurant idea was to do outstanding Indonesian cuisine catering, because no one was doing it despite being in Bali.

What is unique about your business?
That as much love goes into each off-site event as it does at every table in the restaurant.

If Merah Putih catering had a superpower, what would it be?
To be able to cure everyone’s food allergies.

If you had to describe your menu in 3 words, what would they be?
Exceptional. Indonesian. Cuisine.

For you, how has the Wedding catering scene changed over the past 5 years in Bali?
Definitely a lot more events, therefore a lot more caterers. Each offering different styles and price levels.

What are your most popular dishes?
All curries and sharing dishes are a hit at weddings because not only do they taste great, the Indonesian sharing style of eating really adds to the atmosphere.

What is your personal favourite?
Langoustine Pangsit – Coconut, kemangi, sambal dabu dabu.

Where do you source your ingredients from?
All of our dishes use local ingredients except for red meat which is imported, usually from Australia.

What Wedding food trends can we expect to see in the coming year?
High-end Indonesian… Hopefully!

What advice would you give couples who are researching caterers for their Bali Wedding?
Check out our website.

Are you working on anything new or exciting you’d like to share?
Well, we are pretty new and we always try to be exciting, so hoping that everyone else does the sharing on our behalf!

What is the BEST part of your job?
Making the mid-meal speeches. Priceless.
