Boho Styling for Bali Bible Bride Becky Basich | Bali Event Hire

The Stunning Wedding of The Bali Bible’s Becky

Preferring a relaxed atmosphere, Becky Basich’s special day had a classic elegance, allowing the natural elements of Bali’s tropical backdrop to shine through. Knowing the destination wedding island like the back of her hand from her role within the infamous The Bali Bible, she selected crisp white elements set against natural teak, bringing the understated boho styling she wanted to life. Join us as we share in her big day.

So.. how did it all begin!
Badier and I met in April 2009 through mutual friends, and have spent everyday together ever since. We became engaged during a romantic picnic overlooking the ocean in Sydney’s northern beaches as the sun was setting.

What was the planning process like?
We had a talented planner Libby (from Libby Doherty Weddings) who helped me plan the entire event. I knew her creative style from insta-following for almost a year and knew she would be perfect. Having her meant that the whole experience was relatively stress free – she took care of the major details and allowed my personal touches to be added along the way.

What was the theme?
Bohemian-style pool party. This flowed through to the music too, with tropical house tunes playing from sunset.

Why Bali for your special day?
Bali has been a big part of our relationship (especially Canggu) over the past 7 years, so we knew straightaway that we wanted to get married overlooking the rice fields.

What was one of the best aspects of having a destination wedding?
To get the most out of the occasion, we invited our guests to arrived in Bali 10 days before the wedding, which meant we got to spend heaps of time with our family and friends. We also hosted a recovery the day after the wedding, before we went off on our honeymoon.

Most memorable moment?
The whole event was absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.

And of course…. That dress….
I wore the Emily Dress by Anna Campbell. It’s a Bohemian-style wedding dress created from luxury silk fabric and finished with stunning beadwork exclusive to the Anna Campbell style.

You looked absolutely glowing… How can we recreate your barely there makeup and relaxed, flowing locks?
I had to experiment with our hair and makeup artist to ensure my hair stayed in place for the entire night. This meant that I had rollers in my hair early morning right up until 10-15 minutes before the ceremony started. For my face, I wanted a very natural look for the day. Considering the humidity, day to day I rarely wear anything at all.

And finally… advice to other brides-to-be considering Bali?
I could not recommend getting married in Bali enough to anyone who is wanting a relaxed island style wedding. The key is to partner with the right wedding planner who can support you and guide you through the whole process, making sure you only work with vendors who are trustworthy and deliver a high quality of standard.
